Senior Class Gift

FAQ

How are gift ideas generated for the Senior Class Gift Campaign?

The Senior Class Gift Commission is a group of mostly senior class representatives who ensure graduating seniors have the option and ability to give a gift to Missouri State and carefully plan, execute and market the gift and the gift giving process. The goals of the commission are to:

  • Encourage student involvement
  • Promote the Senior Class Gift
  • Choose a project and create a proposal for approval by various campus constituents
  • Recruit new members in the spring
  • Plan and market the Senior Class Gift

The Senior Class Gift Commission, specifically the senior class president, works closely with the Missouri State Student Government Association to provide input to and receive input from the student body and The Missouri State University Foundation, specifically Annual Funds, to coordinate raising money for the gift.  The commission welcomes juniors who are interested in serving during their senior year.

How much are seniors asked to give?

Seniors are asked to participate in the Senior Class Gift Campaign by making a gift of $25.  By participating in the Senior Class Gift Campaign you will receive a Missouri State University Alumni Association card.  This card will entitle you for one year to use the Meyer Library and Hammons Student Center with a daily usage fee.  In addition to the Alumni Association card, donors will receive a Missouri State Alumni Association t-shirt.

How is money raised for the Senior Class Gift Campaign?

Gifts to the Senior Class Gift Campaign are acquired each semester through the Missouri State University Phone Campaign, which is a program within Annual Funds.  Trained Missouri State student callers contact seniors in the fall, spring and summer prior to graduation.

How do seniors continue to benefit from becoming an “active member” of the Alumni Association?

Missouri State Alumni making annual gifts of $25 or more are considered “active” members and are provided an Active Alumni Card by the Annual Funds Department, which will be enclosed with a gift acknowledgment packet mailed to your home.  Current card holders are entitled to use of the Duane G. Meyer Library and use of Hammons Student Center (with payment of daily usage fee at HSC. The card is valid for one year from the date of your annual fund gift. Upon presentation of an “active” alumni membership card, alumni are entitled to a 10% discount on Bearwear at the Missouri State Bookstore, JQH Team Store and online at www.missouristatebookstore.com with a provided coupon code.*
