Missouri State University Foundation

Committee

One of the great things about working for Missouri State University is knowing that each and every day the work we do is important.  It is why we do what we do and why we have invested our time and talent in supporting the mission of this great University.  Everyday we work together to give our students, staff and colleagues a supportive environment.  No matter what role we play at Missouri State, we provide students from all walks of life with something invaluable - an education. Thank you for making Missouri State a special place and for your participation in the All-University Campaign.

From the committee members:

“We have talked for years about designating a foundation account for our department. I was excited to participate in the MSU Faculty/Staff campaign this year to finally get it set-up and designate my donation to a help a specific area I am passionate about on our campus.” Marissa LeClaire Weaver, Associate Director of Student Engagement

“I contribute to Missouri State because it is a wise and meaningful investment in the future.  By giving, I know that the quality educational and co-curricular programs that mean so much to the students, the MSU community and the region will continue to flourish.  I truly believe my contributions make a difference to the MSU community.” Bob Willenbrink, Head, Department of Theatre and Dance

"My husband and I met at Missouri State and we have both worked here since graduating. It would be easy for us to say, 'We already give since we work here.' However, we both realize the importance of supporting the foundation and making sure that our MSU stays strong!"  Dawn W. Brixey, Assistant Director of Admissions-Office Operations

"I made a donation to the Mary Jo Wynn Achievement Center Project because I wanted to honor the past and Dr. Wynn's passion, pride and professionalism in Women's Athletics during her 40 plus years career at Missouri State.  I also wanted to impact the present and future lives of student-athletes in a positive way by helping make this renovation of the Achievement Center a reality."  Holly Hesse, Head Coach, Softball

"Missouri State University is a very special place to me, having spent 32 years on campus, first as an undergraduate, then a graduate student, and now as a member of the staff. During that time, many students have walked these sidewalks and sat in the seats of our classrooms, each of them taking away experiences and memories of caring faculty and staff members who added quality to their lives. For faculty and staff members, Missouri State is a very special place as well. It has provided many of us with a quality education, and, as employees, it provides for the needs of our families through our jobs. We have an opportunity before us to give back to a place that has given so much to us. Please join me in giving a gift to the All-University Campaign. Thank you for investing in the future of our students!"   Chuck Busby, Internet Specialist, Office of the Provost

"Besides a tax write-off, I just felt it was important for me to give a little something back to the university that has supported me all of these years. Without my position, I would not be able to enjoy the life I have. Plus, giving to the hall, I was ensuring at least some monies that I could use for purchases backstage."  Tom Kile, Director of Operations, Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts

"I believe in what we are doing, both in the Libraries and throughout the University.  I feel good about making contributions to various areas of MSU, knowing that each enhances the education of our students, the future leaders of our community and beyond."  Karen Horny, Emeritus Faculty

"Starting my college career later in life would have been next to impossible without the educational resources afforded to me. The administration, professors and degree advisors at Missouri State University were invaluable in helping me reach my goal to graduate. I am proud to be able to give back to the institution that gave so much to me."  Barbie Penn, Administrative Specialist II, Advancement Services

"I would not have been able to go to (Southwest) Missouri State, the way I did, without the scholarships I received.  I only had to work part-time on campus and full-time during all the breaks.  I would have had to delay my graduation and work full-time without scholarships.  Now, as a faculty member, I know there are many opportunities to help students besides scholarships including money for research projects and for travel to conferences.  Both are extremely valuable ways to help our students financially and enrich their education.  There is a way for everyone to give."  Janice Greene, Professor, Biology

"Over the years, my wife and I have enjoyed contributing to scholarships in the economics department and knowing the students who benefit from those scholarships. Giving—even small amounts—is a great way to strengthen programs and help the University."  Dr. Terrel Gallaway, Associate Professor Economics, Faculty Senate Chair
