Christina Ryder has proven that you’re never too young to build a legacy of giving. As president of Christina Ryder and Associates LLC of Springfield, she established a scholarship by making an annual gift through her company to support the CRA Applied Social Scientist Award. The scholarship is offered to an undergraduate student in Missouri State University’s Department of Sociology, Anthropology and Criminology.

“I think that one of the benefits of a scholarship,” said Ryder, “is that it can assist a company in carrying out its mission by reiterating, encouraging and promoting the values and interests of that company among students who are learning about the field or discipline.”

Ryder’s company provides writing, research, fundraising and technical writing to non-profit organizations worldwide. She also teaches Research Methodology and Introduction to Sociology at Missouri State University. As a self-proclaimed activist, Ryder emphasizes community service through her company and classes and has developed a company internship program, available to University Social Science and Technical Writing students, as well as the scholarship recipient. She said, “It’s given us an opportunity to work with top-notch talent. It’s also service opportunity for students.”
