Pummill Hall exterior
The Department of Hospitality Leadership reached a significant milestone—the completion of the program’s new facility! In July 2015, the Hospitality Leadership faculty and staff said goodbye to the old facility in the Professional Building and hello to our new homein Pummill Hall, located in the heart of main campus. This fall we welcomed our first group of students into the building. The students’ response to the new space has been overwhelmingly positive. There is a visible sense of pride among the students as they are getting to experience a truly exceptional learning environment.
With the department now in its new facility, the real work has begun to answer the call to become a signature program at the university. The Hospitality Leadership department's faculty, staff, and board of advisors have given focused attention to strategic planning to compliment Missouri State University’s long-range plan. Together, we are developing strategies to elevate the status of the department regionally, nationally, and internationally. We need your help to take our program to the next level.
We have worked diligently to expand the opportunities available to our students so that they can become stellar hospitality leaders like you. We welcomed 35 companies at our spring career fair and hosted prestigious alumni Hospitality Leaders. Anna Marie Presutti, Vice President and General Manager of Hotel Nikko, Inc., and Hotel Nikko San Francisco, and her executive team presented to hospitality classes. Chris Morris, President and CFO of California Pizza Kitchen, was our showcase speaker for the Hospitality Leadership Board of Advisors Speaker Series.
You can help students to become hospitality leaders by making a gift online today to the Hospitality Leadership general fund! Another way to give would be to leave your legacy through bequests and estate planning. Make the process of organizing your estate and plans even easier by requesting our Guide to Wills and Estates or call our office of development at 417-836-4143. Missouri State University is perfectly poised to serve as Missouri’s “hub” for hospitality education. We encourage you to support the next generation of hospitality leaders. Thank you!
